The sale opens on Friday at 9 am and runs through the weekend. The hours are Friday 9 am to 7 pm, Saturday 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday Noon to 4 pm. Sunday is also half price day. The proceeds from the sale go to purchase new books and to help the branch libraries throughout the community. The books, C-D's and movies have been either donated or surplus items. Thursday April 2nd is preview night for members of "Friends of the Library" from 4 pm to 7 pm. You can become a member at the door for a donation of $5 and up.

Doubletree RiversideA night of fashion and horse racing will be presented by the Junior League of Boise at the Doubletree Riverside this Saturday night April 4th. The evening will feature a fashion show, live and silent auction and horse racing with a raffle for a Kentucky Derby package. Tickets for the event are $50 in advance or $60 at the door. The proceeds from the event will help the Junior League of Boise to continue their work in the community.

Boise Rescue Mission"March to end Hunger" is a special event today for the Boise Rescue Mission. Starting at 9 am this morning children are encouraged to come to the City Light Shelter for Women and Children and march around the block together raising funds for the food drive. You can sponsor the children with canned food or cash donations. The event will run from 9 am to noon and all you need to do is come by and make that donation of food or money.

Appleton Tennis Center, BSUThe Boise State Spring Break tournament starts at 10 am today with action for the Broncos at the Boas Tennis Center and at 5 pm at the Appleton Tennis Center. Boise State is ranked 23rd in the nation and will be hosting the tournament that features teams from Memphis, Fresno Pacific, Nebraska, Idaho State, South Alabama, Ball State, and Sacramento State. The action will be at Boise State, Julia Davis Park and the Boise Racket and Swim club. The finals will be at the Appleton Tennis Center tomorrow.

St. AlphonsusThe truth about heart disease and how to prevent it will be given on April Fools Day. "The Beat Goes On" is the event at St. Alphonsus where you can learn more about taking care of yourself through diet, exercise, dental care and how to avoid type two diabetes. The event will start at the McCleary Auditorium at 6 pm on April 1st and it is free. The even will feature information from doctors and other health care providers.

Zoo BoiseThe Easter Eggstravaganza is coming to Zoo Boise on Saturday April 4th with regular Zoo hours and admission. The day is filled with special activities and treats for children of all ages. Maple Grove GrangeThe annual 4-H chili feed and auction will be held tomorrow night at the Maple Grove Grange Hall. This is the big fundraiser for the 4-H members and the dinner starts at 5 pm. Sawtooth Middle SchoolCelebrities and law enforcement officers will take to the volleyball court to raise money for Crime stoppers. The annual volleyball match will be at Sawtooth Middle School this Saturday night. Sawtooth is located just off Linder road and Ustick road. The doors will open at 5 pm and the cost is $15 per adult and will include up to 2 children or $35 for the entire family. Everyone is welcome to attend and support the Crime Stoppers program. Fairview SquareToday is St. Patrick's Day and that means the Tiernan Irish Dancers will be doing multiple performances around the area. Doubletree RiversideThe Western Idaho Fly Fishing Expo is this weekend at the Doubletree Riverside and the day long event is free. The expo opens at 9 am and runs through 4 pm. That evening there is a banquet and tickets are available by call 353-5576. NNU Brandt CenterNorthwest Nazarene University will inaugurate their 12th President tonight. David Alexander will take the office tonight in a ceremony at 7 pm. The event is open to everyone and is free. The evening will feature a 90 member choir and 22 member brass ensemble followed by an address from the new President about his plans and goals for the University.

Karcher MallA Senior Spring Fashion Show will be held at Nampa's Karcher Mall on Saturday March 21 at 2 pm. All the funds raised will go to Alzheimer's Association of Greater Idaho. There is a $10 charge and in addition to the fashion show there will be food and a live and silent auction. Assistance League of BoiseCinderella's Closet will open on April 1st and run through May 30th at the Assistance League of Boise. This is a chance for girls and boys in Ada County to rent formal attire for the prom season for only $10. The cost is just to cover the cleaning costs. The hours are Wednesdays 3:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturdays 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. The Assistance League is located at 5831 Glenwood. This year teens in Canyon County also have a place to go it is at Lake Ridge Elementary in Nampa at 615 Burk Lane. The hours in Canyon County are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30 - 6:30.

Powerhouse Event Center"Dancing through the Decades" is a fundraising event for Idaho Dance Theatre but we get to do the dancing for this event. Saturday March 14 at the Powerhouse Event Center will be a dinner, auction, and chance to dance the night away. The evening will also include a "Dancing with the Stars" competition. There will be several celebrity dancers for the competition. The evening starts at 5:30 pm and the cost is $75 per person or you can sponsor a table for $600.
