The girls will be out at a variety of locations and if you click here you will find the cookie locator and it will direct you to the closest location to buy cookies. The sales help the girls to set goals as individuals and as a troop. The funds raised will be used to help the girls go to adventure destinations for education and to help them grow as individuals.

Nampa Outback SteakhouseYou can have lunch today the Nampa Outback Steakhouse and help the Nampa Optimist Football program at the same time. Outback is normally not open for lunch but today only from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm you can get a special lunch for $10. The funds raised will go to help with the youth football program in the Nampa area. No reservations are necessary just show up at the Nampa location only.

Idaho Public TelevisionFestival 2009 is coming and will start this weekend. This is the annual fundraising event that helps support public television for the entire season. More that half of the funds to keep public television going, come from donations. Festival starts on Saturday at 5 pm and runs until Sunday March 15 you can make pledges or donation throughout that time by calling 1-800-980-4788. You can also click here for more information.

Stagecoach Theatre"Brooklyn Boy" is the latest production at Stagecoach Theatre. This slice of life drama follows the life of a young struggling writer who decides to write about his youth and growing up in Brooklyn to become an instant success. The show will open this Friday and run for the next three weeks with one Sunday matinee next weekend. You can call 342-2000 for times and to reserve your seats in advance. Stagecoach theatre is located in the covered portion of the Hillcrest Shopping Center just off Overland and Orchard.

Boas Tennis CenterBoise State Men's tennis will take center stage this weekend. The bronco netters will host Idaho on Friday evening and again Saturday morning. Then Saturday afternoon the broncos face off against Utah. The Friday action starts at 6:30 pm in the Boas Tennis Center with the Saturday matches at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. There is no charge to come and watch the action. The Broncos are currently ranked 29th in the nation but are expected to move up when the rankings come out tomorrow.

Expo IdahoHorse lovers this is your weekend at Expo Idaho. It's time for Horse Affairs and you can catch the action and the fun Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The cost is $10 each day for adults, age 13-17 are $5 per day and children 12 and under are free. If you want to attend all three days you can buy a pass for $25. The activities include demonstrations, vendors and hands on learning.

Nampa Christian SchoolsThe Nampa Christian Schools Country Fair and Auction starts tonight and goes through tomorrow. The Auction is the main feature but there is also a breakfast today and tomorrow and a dinner which is a country barbeque tonight. Today's breakfast starts at 6 am and tomorrow's is at 8 am. The cost is $4 adults, $3 seniors and $2.50 for children 12 and under. The dinner is at 5 pm and the cost $7 adults, $6 for seniors and $4.50 for children. The proceeds of the auction which starts at 7 pm tonight go to the annual funding for the schools.

FNAWSThe Foundation for North American Wild Sheep (FNAWS) will be holding their annual banquet at the Nampa Civic Center this Saturday night. The event is open to everyone and is $75 per person or $100 per couple. The funds raised will go to help the North American Wild Sheep thrive in Idaho through research, treatment and management of the existing herd. El Korah ShrineIt's time again for the Melodrama at the El Korah Shrine. This year's show is Desperate Ambrose and features all your favorite action. Boo the bad guys and cheer the good guys at any of five shows starting on February 28th. The other shows are all in March on the 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th. Special Olympics, World Winter GamesThe Special Olympics World Winter Games ended last night but for Special Olympics Idaho the effort goes on. The effort continues for the 2,500 athletes in the Gem State with the state winter games coming the first weekend in March in McCall. Idaho CenterThe Special Olympics World Winter Games are nearing an end and will wrap up tonight with the closing ceremonies at the Idaho Center. There are no tickets left because this is a special celebration with the athletes and the many volunteers who have helped out all week. There will also be a party for those volunteers after the closing. You can see the closing ceremonies on Idaho's NewsChannel 7 tonight from 7 to 9 pm. We will carry everything live. Expo IdahoThe Special Olympics World Winter Games continue. Expo Idaho fairgrounds is hosting the floor hockey competition. The action continues today and is free to attend. The snow this morning meant we needed to be outside but inside the action is hot and fast. This is the second round of the tournament and the final teams will be determined in the next couple of days.

Bogus BasinThe Special Olympics World Winter Games continue with action on at Bogus Basin again today. The alpine and cross country skiing started yesterday and venues will open again this morning. BSU Taco Bell ArenaThe Special Olympics World Winter Games, Global Youth Rally is today at the Taco Bell Arena on the campus of Boise State University. The rally starts at 10 am and is open to the public and free to attend. The rally will bring together thousands of youth with and without intellectual disabilities for an inspiring and motivational event that will provide a teachable moment to thousands around the world.

Boise Centre on the GroveThe Grove and the Centre on the Grove will be the heart of the Festival experience for the Special Olympics World Winter Games. Inside the Centre will be the sports experience where you can meet and interact with the athletes and there will be free entertainment. The figure skating takes place at Qwest Arena, it is also free and there will be ongoing activities on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The hours are Sunday 11 am to 5 pm, Monday and Tuesday 4 pm to 9 pm. There is no charge.

Idaho Historical MuseumA special display that captures the spirit and feel of the Special Olympics is on display at the Idaho Historical Museum and the Boise Art Museum. The photographic experience will be open until the end of February. The one at the Historical Museum is called "Be a Fan" the one at the Art Museum is called "Let me be Brave - Portraits of Courage". The respective photographers will be at each facility tonight from 5 pm - 9 pm.

Boise Centre on the GroveThe "Lunch for Literacy" is coming on Thursday February 19th at the Boise Centre on the Grove. The lunch and silent auction raised funds for the Learning Lab which helps with adults who struggle with literacy and their children. Zoo BoiseIt's Ground Hog Day and in Pennsylvania the ground hog saw his shadow and in Boise our own prairie dog Boise Bill also saw his shadow. He was missing early as he was preparing for the upcoming Special Olympic World Winter Games. He was practicing handing out medals to the athletes when the sun came up and he also saw his shadow and that means he is predicting another 6 weeks of winter.
