The group will hold a pasta dinner on February 8th from 5 pm to 8 pm. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and children if you get them in advance or $7 at the door. To get tickets in advance you can call 468-4750. The Jazz band will perform throughout dinner and raffle prizes will also be available.

Nampa Civic CenterThe St. Paul’s Catholic School dinner and auction is tonight at the Nampa Civic Center. The doors open at 5 pm and dinner is at 7 pm. Tickets are still available but you need to call 695-4220 by noon today to get a reservation. The tickets are $45 each and will include a prime rib dinner. The funds raised help support the school and help keep tuition costs down for students. The evening will also feature a live and silent auction of fabulous items.

Cathedral of the RockiesThe annual Cathedral Antiques and Collectible Show will be this weekend at the Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise. The 14th annual show and sale opens on Friday and runs through Saturday. Show times are 5 pm to 9 pm on Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday. There is a $4 charge to attend for adults and $3 for seniors, but it will get you in both days. The funds raised through the show will help support the United Methodist Women’s ministries local and national.

American Cancer Society“Hope on the Slopes” is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and involves downhill skiing or snowboarding. Teams of 10 will gather donations and then ski at Tamarack Resort on February 23 and keep track of their vertical feet. The team with most for the day will win the top prize. Each team needs to have a minimum of $2,000 for the Cancer Society. Call 422-0844 for more information.

Alano Club“Gunsmokin’” is the latest production for Prairie Dog Productions and will open this Friday night. The show will run every weekend until March 1st at the Alano Club off Cassia and Latah. The show times for the musical, comedy, parody, farce are 7:15 each Friday and Saturday with two matinees on February 10th and 17th at 2:00. Karcher Mall, NampaWork continues to renovate the historic Pix Theatre in the Nampa area. To help with funding for the project a quilt show is being held at the Karcher Mall this weekend only. More than 80 incredible quilts are on display and it will cost you $5 to see them. Some of the quilts are for sale but many are not and this is you only chance to see work done by talented artists from around the area. One of the quilts will be raffled off. BSU Special Events CenterIdaho Dance Theatre will open its new show “Rapid Transit” on Thursday January 24th at the Special Events Center on the campus of Boise State. The dance performance features original choreography in a variety of styles. There are 4 total shows from Thursday through a Sunday matinee. Tickets are available by calling 331-9592 or at the door.

BSU Boas Tennis CenterBoise State tennis action starts this weekend at the Boas Tennis Center. The Broncos are ranked 22nd in the nation and will face Montana State tomorrow at 10 am and Utah State at 6 pm. Saturday Boise State will host the Mountain Regional Playoffs. The Broncos start in the morning against UNLV with New Mexico and Utah at 12 pm. The finals will be at 6 pm. Admission is free to all the action.

Nampa Civic CenterCustomer Appreciation Day in Nampa is this Saturday at the Nampa Civic Center. The event is free and will feature samples and a chance to learn about the businesses in the Nampa area both new and old. If you would like to attend it starts at 9 am and ends at 4 pm and everyone is welcome.

Boise Art MuseumThe Las Artes de Mexico exhibit is open at the Boise Art Museum and on Wednesday the museum will host a special fiesta from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The event will help celebrate the exhibit which features Mexican arts from 3,500 years ago to modern times. Museum members are free but non-members will be charged $10. Food and entertainment will also be available.

Canyon County FairgroundsThe Nampa Bow Chiefs is hosting an archery tournament this weekend at the Canyon County Fairgrounds. The competition helps archers hone their skills during the off season for hunting. The competition involves 3-D targets and money prizes are offered to the top competitors in various age categories. The competition will wrap up tomorrow in the main building for the fairgrounds.

Westys Garden Lanes“Bowl for Kids’ Sake” is a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho. The event runs through February and will be held each Saturday at different bowling centers across the Treasure Valley. Bowlers are encouraged to form teams of 5 and each person is asked to raise $100 each for a $500 donation per team. Idaho CenterThe Rollie Lane wresting invitational starts today at 3:00 and will run through tonight and tomorrow at the Idaho Center in Nampa. The action involves 43 teams from Idaho, Oregon and Nevada and the finals will wrap up tomorrow. This is a preview of the state tournament that will be here in February. The competitors are all high school and the schools range from 2A to 5A. The costs are $9 for today’s action $13 tomorrow or $20 for a tournament pass.
