The festival of artistic creations is a fundraiser for the Boise Art Museum. There is no charge to attend but proceeds from sales help continue programs at the Museum. Artists are selected in advance to be a part of this special showing and there is something for everyone.

USGS BuildingThe combined federal employee's campaign kicks off today. This is the effort by federal employees to combine their resources and make the most impact with their charitable dollars. Last year the federal employees in southwest Idaho gave more than $500,000 and they are looking to increase that this year. There are more than 85 non-profit organizations for the employees to choose in their giving.

Eagle Knoll Winery"Share in the Dream" is a fundraising dinner and auction to benefit Camp River Run. The camp is a special opportunity for children who battle life-threatening or disabling medical conditions. The dinner is Friday night at the Eagle Knoll Winery starting at 6 pm with the live auction following dinner. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Capital High SchoolNeeds are greater than they have been for several years and we have a critical shortage of food for families. High Schools in the Southwest Conference are trying to meet the need with a friendly competition of food drives. They need your help to be truly successful. Right now Bishop Kelly and Capital are competing but other High Schools will be joining the effort. If you want to help you can make donations at a High School near you or contact the Salvation Army.

Hillcrest FloralThis is "Good Neighbor Day" where you can get a dozen roses free to give away to others. Hillcrest Floral in the Hillcrest shopping center off Overland and Orchard is participating again in this nationwide event. The idea is you keep one rose for yourself and give the other 11 to 11 other people as a good will effort. This year they are asking you to bring a food donation for the Idaho Foodbank to receive your dozen roses. This is a first come basis until all the roses are gone or until closing time at 5:30 pm

Red Lion DowntownerThe Centennial High School Football team needs to add a new weight room facility and some additional equipment. A fund raising dinner and auction will be held this Saturday night at the Red Lion Downtowner Hotel. The event will start at 5:30 pm and tickets are still available. The marathons will start in January and the team is currently working toward that event. West Park, NampaThe 4th annual Roger Run is this weekend starting at West Park in the Nampa area. The invitational run everything from a race to a walk/run for everyone. The check in for the race starts at 7:30 on Saturday morning and raises money for scholarships for students interested in the medical profession. The programs are run through the Boise Parks and Recreation program and involved everything from hockey leagues to figure skating lessons. GroveThe United Way giving campaign will kick off today with a flapjack feed in the Grove. If you give a $5 donation today you can eat all the flapjacks you want. This is the beginning of the charitable giving where United Way will try to gather more than $6 million to help with the growing needs of our community.
