Ann Morrison Park

The fourth day of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Rally was just as perfect as the first day. For the fourth day in a row the pilots were able to find box winds and return to Ann Morrison Park, the same location where they took off. Return to your launch site is one of the most unusual things in Ballooning but it happened for 4 straight days because of the unique conditions in the Boise area. Several thousand folks got a chance to see the balloons over the past four days.

Ann Morrison Park

Day 3 for the Spirit of Boise Balloon Rally saw another perfect day for weather conditions. The pilots were again able to find the box winds and guide their balloons back to the park and very near where they had taken off at 6:30 this morning. Today was a hare and hound chase, where one balloon was the first out and the rest attempted to follow and nearly all the pilots were successful. There is one day left, tomorrow morning and it will be know as the “Last Dance” and balloons will be launching at about 6:30 am. Everyone is welcome to come out to the park but parking will be limited to authorized vehicles.

Balloon Rally

Day two of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Rally in Ann Morrison Park produced near perfect conditions for flying balloons. Most of the pilots were able to return to the launch field, which in the world of ballooning is very rare. The rally will continue for two more days but there won’t be any launch on Sunday and no Night Glow Saturday night. The next launch is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 6:45 am.
