The Western Athletic Conference announced its weekly honors and University of Idaho defensive end Aaron Lavarias was named the defensive player of the week. Lavarias made 4 solo tackles, which included 2 sacks and also forced a fumble in the Vandals win over Hawaii, Saturday. Vandal senior running back DeMaundry Woolridge, who scored 4 touchdowns in Idaho's win was nominated for the weekly award for Offensive player of the week, but that was given to Fresno State running back Ryan Mathews who rushed for 233 yards on 20 carries and a score in the Bulldogs 41-21 victory over San Jose State. |
