Tomato Beef
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons soy sauce
¼ cup water
3 tablespoons sesame oil
1 lb. beef sirloin, cut into strips about 1/2 inch X 2 inches
1 teaspoon chopped fresh garlic
2 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger
1 onion, cut into ½ inch wedges
1 green bell pepper, cut into ½ inch wedges
1 teaspoon curry powder
½ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
3 medium tomatoes, cut into ½ inch wedges
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
½ lb. cooked soba noodles
Method
Combine cornstarch salt, soy sauce, water and 1 tablespoon of the sesame oil; set aside.
Heat the remaining sesame oil in wok or heavy bottomed frying pan; add beef slices, garlic, and ginger. Stir-Fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Add onions, bell pepper, curry powder, and black pepper and fry another 2 minutes. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and stir 1 minute. Add tomatoes. Sauce should be clear. Serve over soba noodles, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
