Will You Get the Swine Flu Vaccine?
It's something many of us are talking about - the Swine Flu vaccine. Should you get it or not? There seems to be a lot of opinions on both sides of the aisle. Some people say no way - they don't want to put something in their bodies they don't need, others say absolutely - why not protect yourself?
This week, the first shipment of nasal spray vaccines arrive. Here in Idaho, we have just 9,000 doses for the entire state!
Most of the vaccine is for healthcare workers - that's so they will be healthy enough to take care of people who do happen to get sick. Once health care workers are vaccinated - they'll be ready to vaccinate others. Then, local hospitals will prioritize.
There is one problem though, we're not sure when more will arrive. The CDC says more of the vaccine will be ready sometime this month. When the supply does arrive, local health departments are planning on holding mass vaccination clinics.
So should you get it?
Health experts say If you're a healthy adult over 25, get your regular flu shot - but don't rush to get the swine flu vaccine. If you're a health care worker, under 24 years old or if your child is under 6 months old - you're at risk. You may choose to get both vaccines.
Pregnant women and chronically ill adults are at risk, too. BUT, if you fall into this category, you can't get the spray, you have to wait for the shot.
*Parents, as always, you should talk to your pediatrician to get advice on what to do when it comes to your kids.

Why or why not?
No, I will not get the swine flu vaccine, neither will anyone in my family. I also urge EVERYONE to become educated about vaccines in general and the swine flu vaccine in particular. Two specific reasons why I will not receive the vaccine:
Thimerosol: this a mercury containing preservative. Mercury is a highly poisonous heavy metal.
Squalene: a so-called "adjuvant" to boost your immune response. "...All laboratory rats injected with squalene (oil) adjuvants developed a disease that left them crippled, dragging their paralyzed hindquarters across their cages. Injected squalene can cause severe arthritis (3 on scale of 4) and severe immune responses such as autoimmune arthritis and lupus."
Yes. I read Dr. Sanjay Gupta's account of coming down with the AH1N1 Human Virus and discovered that this stuff is nasty! Dr. Gupta said he had never been sicker in his entire life. Why get sick when you can be vaccinated?
I don't understand my fellow Idahoans aversion to be vaccinated. While there are risks, the percentage of contracting a complication is extremely slight. (There are greater risks in this world. You are more likely to get killed in a car crash than suffer some complication from inoculation.) No wonder why children's vaccination rates are the lowest of any state in the union. Wake up Idahoans and GET REAL!

By nature I can't trust ANYTHING being pushed THIS hard by the government! To my knowledge I have NEVER had the true flu in my life and have had one flu shot - in 1990. That flu shot landed me in the hospital with an allergic reaction and on Prednisone for six weeks. So I have it documented in my medical records that I'm allergic. Will NEVER do it again. Period.
Seriously, the best prevention is to be SMART! Wash your hands frequently, DON'T OVER-STERILIZE YOURSELF - let your natural immune system protect you. Don't hang out with sick people, and if they're in your home, make sure they use tissues, etc.
Folks, just be healthy! Eat right, get rest and exercise, and GET YOUR BUTT OUTSIDE!!! Fresh air and good general health are the best prevention!!!
No, I will not be getting a flu shot.
A study by Rice University regarding efficacy of flu vaccines showed that 26% of the time during the years 1971-2004, "the vaccine can induce a greater degree of susceptibility to flu-like illness in vaccinated individuals relative to unvaccinated individuals." By protecting your body against one particular strain, you leave yourself vulnerable to any mutant strains that might arise.

I have no intentions of getting the H1N1 vaccine and would encourage others to be informed. Why is the government pushing this vaccine so hard?? It is frightening to me that the vaccine has not been tested and has been so readily available so quickly.. what will the long term affects be? The big 1976 swine flu pandemic was a bust and look what happened, people were petrified..wash your hands people, cover your noses, etc. We have become so hyperclean that our bodies can't fight illnesses. Let your bodies fight illnesses the way God intended. Mainstream media is not discussing the case about the contaminated vaccines,, I wonder why not???

NO way will anyone in our family get that vaccine. If I wanted my children exposed to the toxic additives, I could break a light bulb, or drain my antifreeze and serve it for dinner. Sound stupid? Everyone should read vaccine ingredients. Ether, tissue from aborted babies, and tons of toxic additives are found in all vaccines. My family and I will stock up on vitamin D and probiotics.
We need "greener" shots!
Why doesn't the news talk about the ingredients in the shot. Most of the public have no idea, and don't relize they are taking toxic chemicals.
Swine Flu is hurting children more? Does anyone think this could do with the fact we poison there little bodies with over 36 live viruses and hundreds of toxic materials and metals?
Yes.
As soon it becomes available everyone, including my one year old will get it. People are dying. DYING. This is not the regular flu. I could never live with myself if someone in my family died from this and all it would have taken was a shot.
As for people getting up in arms about why the gov't is pushing this? Because our health care system will not be able to handle the number of people that would flood it otherwise. Hospitals are downsizing too! Also, how many of these people would be angry if the gov't knew what it would take to prevent an epidemic yet did not disseminate that information? Plenty of people would be very angry and rightly so.
People who don't vaccinate reduce the immunity of the herd!
I am so torn about this! I feel in my gut that this vaccination can do more harm then good. I beleive good hygine and diet are key, take a more natural approach. But at the same time I work the front desk at a very busy doctors office and I go to the hospital every morning to do the hearing test on the newborn babies. My dr. also thinks I have endometriosis and I don't know how that will react. Any help???
Kim: I followed all of those precautions and still go the swine flu. It's extremely contagious, you can get it by standing next to someone who has it. I mean, there is only so much you can do.
That said, I will not be getting the vaccine. Even if I hadn't have gotten the flu itself (which I'm currently suffering from) I wouldn't have gotten the vaccine. Not only because of the chemicals (mercury, etc), but because they put disgusting products in it, like: human diploid cells (originating from human aborted fetal tissue), washed sheep's blood, chick embryo, chicken egg, duck egg* calf (bovine) serum* betapropiolactone, a continuous line of monkey kidney cells... shall I continue?
For those of you who think the swine flu vaccine is a government plot to kill you, please don't take it. I'm urging all of you delusional right-wing paranoid conspiracy theorists to do the rest of us a favor and not take the vaccine. Thank you and rest in peace.
