Stockdale Insurance Appeal Denied:

Yesterday, we learned Omnipure Filter Company's insurance plan will not cover the experimental surgery that could help relieve Ryan Stockdale's cluster headaches. In the statement, the company says that after going over the insurance plan, there is no way to do it. It says doing so could jeopardize coverage for the company's other 180 employees.

"The plan trustees have agonized over Ryan's situation and have gone to every length possible to figure out if there is a way for the plan to legally cover the procedure Ryan is seeking." - Omnipure President Roger Reid

Under Omnipure's plan - experimental procedures are not covered.

"All of us at Omnipure know that this is a very difficult situation for Ryan and his family and they have our profound sympathy. We wish it were different." - Roger Reid, Omnipure President

If the Stockdale family decides to have the surgery using their own money - Reid indicated that he is prepared to make a personal contribution of his own money to a fund dedicated for paying for the surgery.

How to donate:

Family spokesperson Scott Turlington told me an account has been started at Syringa Bank here in Idaho. You can donate at any Syringa Bank branch. Just let them know it's for the Stockdale Family Benefit Account - you can also donate online throught PAY PAL at:

www.ryanstockdale.org

There is another way to donate and that's happening TODAY only. Impact Radio Group will be broadcasting at the Syringa Bank on Eagle and Fairview from 2pm to 6pm to collect donations. They are calling it the "Power of a Dollar" fundraiser...

My 11year old son saw this story on KTVB and he said to me....."Mom if this family needs $100,000 to cover this dads surgery....why can't 100,000 people donate $1.00 each. That's all it would take!" What a GREAT idea! Can we set up some kind of fundraiser with the hopes that 100,000 people in the Boise/Meridian/Eagle/Kuna/Middleton/Star area will each donate a minimum of $1.00 each! Doesn't seem too complicated does it? Everyone can send their donation to KTVB.

No coverage health insurance more important than severe headaches? The insurance system needs to be operating in a more HEALTHY way. Now it is up to the people to go above and beyond -where insurance failed-to help out.

Christine said:

I will be stopping by my closest Syringa Bank to make a donation to this family as well as encourage my family and friends--along with the entire community--to donate to this cause. We spend $5 on a coffee every day-why not put that toward helping a young man able to enjoy his life, family and the blessings he has been given.

Casie Stevenson said:

I know that this community will be the answer to the family and friends prayers of the Stockdale's. I would love to see more places to help them and possibly get donation jars out in all the banks in the Treasure Valley. Let's help them in every possible way we can and are able!

My 20 year old son has suffered with severe cluster headaches for the past 3 years, and has lost all insurance companies. Unfortunately , these things happen. It's very frustrating, but we do the best we can. The medical personnel who tend to make these people feel like "drug seekers" when they are seen in the emergency rooms should read this mans story. My son too was diagnosed by 3 separate neurologists in the past 3 years and just lives with it from day to day.

EJ Grady said:

So, Ominipure and their insurance company are telling the Stockdales and the public they only have $555 per person for medical insurance coverage of the 180 other employees covered under their plan. Do the math. What's wrong with this picture? And if so, and I were one of Omnipure's employees, I would be very concerned about that; would start asking questions. Has the insurance company presented any concrete evidence that this "experimental" surgery doesn't work? Why is it that insurance companies will cover $80 to $100,000 heart by-pass surgeries, where there is no guarantee after the surgery that the patient will not have heart disease issues in the future and they won't cover this? This is about the "bottom line"--$$$dollars$$$ not experimental surgery

lynda said:

have they tried Melaleuca vitamines?
I personaly know some one who had several grandmall seizures a day and was a lot of different medications. He started taking the vitamins and about a year later he was off the medications and has not had another seizure since. This happened several years ago and this man will tell you that the vitamines saved his life. It is worth checking into.

This is sick. As somebody who suffered from migraines for years, I can't even being to imagine what the Stockdale family is going through. My family is working on setting up a fund raiser for them. If you are interested in helping or have ideas, please email me at angelishone@hotmail.com.

A random guy said:

Let's not get fussed over Omnipure. Unfortunately, stuff like this DOES happens. Insurance isn't always the "nice guy" in these situations. PLUS, Mr. Reid indicated that he is willing to make a PERSONAL CONTRIBUTION, and that is very nice of him. I think this is an opportunity to get together and help the Stockdale family! Let the answer to their prayers be us citizens, not an insurance company. Like what's been said before, if a LOT of us donate even a small amount, it adds up quickly. Every penny DOES help!

danny cone said:

Its a shame you don't or "won't" devulge the name of the insurance company, so the careing public can pickett in front of it demanding they make an exception. After all its a drop in the a bucket to these money grabbing un-careing heartless greedy companys that give millions & I mean millions in bounuses to ther ceo,s that live in there glass penthouses & sit back & figure out how to cut what is covered so they get bigger bounuses. Just ask me how b.c. of Idaho is shafting me.

danny cone said:

Yea I'll bet you will be there for the full story tonight when they speak out. But It won't be the ""full"" story because you won't tell the name of this heartless company that dosn't have an ounce of moral fiber. And you know why, you don't want to loose the money they spend with you in advertising. Again it all boils down to $$-$$ & not morle fiber. and I bet you won't even post this.

jim lilly said:

insurance is legalized gambling, we bet we will have one or more of the covered conditions and the insurance company bets we won't. have you ever wondered why reno and vegas are so fancy. seems we loose more bets than the ones we win!!

Erica said:

I will be making a donation to help out, and just like Emily's 11 year old son said...."if we all donate at least $1 we can help raise the $100,000" I know I personally blow at least $5 a day on things I dont need, I will challenge everyone to donate at least one day of that "little extra" mad money that we all spend on a daily basis, if you are able to. We will keep the Stockdale family in our prayers!!

Stephanie said:

Krista & Kassie, I agree with you, lets have a fundraiser. Count me in. How can I help? I live in Nampa. My email is stephaniesemail@netzero.net. Maybe something at the western Idaho Fair, where a lot of people are already at.
My motto; If everyone does a little it adds up to a whole lot.

I get about one headache per year. It is never severe, just a minor annoyance. But when that one little non-severe headache happens, I hate it. I really, really hate it. I worked with a lady that would occasionally get migraines and I could tell that she was in terrible pain. I felt so sorry for her. She told me that she thought she was lucky, because she had a friend that had cluster headaches, and all she got was migraines. I had never heard the term "cluster headaches" before and my friend explained to me what they were. I wish the Stockdales the very best luck and will say a prayer for them. Let's all pray and contribute to the fund. This family has endured enough. May God bless them.

It would be very informative to know the name of the insurance company. Channel 7, step up and do the right thing. Let us know what insurance company is involved. Are you keeping it a secret because of the advertising dollars involved? I think people want to know and should know. It would also be interesting to know this year's monetary compensation of the president of that insurance company.

annonymous said:

This family has been given much!! There are so many families in this predicament...loosing homes or paying medical bills...husband's loosing jobs for medical reasons/ disability and having disabled kids. No one is building extravagant homes and paying mortgages for them, nobody is setting up fundraisers to help them out and their disabled kids are suffering terribly. Share the wealth with every family that needs it, not just one...they have been given much! I think it's time they make those tough decisions everyone else in the world has to make on their own.

If there ever is an appropriate time to set up such an account, this is it. I suspect it may save his life. Count me in!

I'm making some calls to find out the name of the insurance company. I (or Channel 7) would never "not reveal" an insurance company in my reports on purpose, even if advertising dollars were involved. That's not Channel 7's style... I will post it here when I find out!

Count me in! Would the bank be willing to post a regularly-scheduled update on this blog? After this family's needs have been met, would anyone will willing to keep it ongoing? There will always be a "Ryan" somewhere, sometime who will benefit from our statewide (hopefully) support, financially as well as prayerfully.

Doug Greer said:

These people are mormon. Why isn't the LDS church helping them out???????????? They're turning their backs on their own people?! The church itself is a $30 BILLION dollar empire!!! They can't fork out $140,000 for these people!?

Give me a break!

Mark said:

Ok, first comment was blocked for some reason. A couple of points here people. In one part of the video Ryan is holding a PEPSI can! One thing about these headaches is you AVOID caffine!!! My wife and I have talked about this for a few days now and have come to the conclusion that this couple are media whores! Sorry, public and Maggie, but they are. If the insurance company did authorize this procedure, it would open a pandoras box! This is an EXPERIMENTAL surgery. Hmm, get a 4,000 sf special home for the kids and now 2 years later this. He has supposidly had them the last five years? We don't remember this being mentioned on the show?

annonymous said:

My family had the unfortunate task of appealing a procedure that would greatly improve my chances of beating cancer. It took many appeals and lots of research and support of every one involved, but we were the lucky ones. We were approved. We know exactly what the Stockdales have gone thru. Let us all use POSITIVE energy to find a way to make this surgery happen. I know I will be asking my company what we can do to raise money to donate to the surgery. My family will also be making a contribution. The Stockdales would do the same for any family in our community. And each of us were we be in this situation would greatly appreciate the community support to get us thru our dark hours.

OK Treasure Valley it looks like we are all on the same page as far as stepping up and helping out.
Sara and I will be trying to coordinate volunteers in the next few days. We need people from all cities and counties to help out and facilitate.
So.. if your in email me at stephaniepetersemail@gmail.com , let me know if you can be a coordinator or a facilitator. What city you are in, an email address If you have any special talents (marketing, advertising, special connections or just a willing heart, we need all of you) .
My motto: if everyone does a little, we can do a lot!
Lets get this surgery for Ryan.

Linda said:

I don't understand why doctors are able to bring people from other countries here for donated treatment, yet when it is someone from this country we don't see that happen.
Yes, everyone deserves treatment no matter where they are from, but how about starting at home.
I suffered a lot when I was younger with terrible migraines and was in tears many times, but I just can't imagine what this poor man is going through. There is not a drug to make it go away. Just living with the thought of knowing that only surgery will help with this horrendous pain and the constant worry of not being able to function and take care of his family is enough to bring anyone to their knees. No one can function with this type of pain to even do everyday tasks.
Let's all chip in and show this family what our community is all about. Like a lot of people earlier said, even if it's just a $1.00 every cent gets him and his family closer to relief from this debilitating pain.
Let's also say a prayer to give his wife and kids strength to get through, even when they feel they have none left. That doesn't cost a dime!

annonymous #2 said:

I have to agree with annonymous. While I do have a certain amount of compassion for the family, I also feel that our community has done so much for them that they have actually become out of touch with reality. They expect everything to be given to them....I'm sorry, but I am struggling to pay my own hospital bills, I can't help with theirs, too. Maybe if I didn't have a mortgage payment or car payment (because those things were given to me) it would be easier. Oh yeah, I work for a living, too. Some might view my opinion as harsh, but I think this community has done more than it's fair share for this family. You have a home that is worth much more than the cost of the surgery...use it as collateral and pay for the surgery yourselves. If this was happening to any other family, that is what we would have to do. Just my $0.02 worth.

Chris Curry said:

Why can't they take out a mortgag on their house to pay for the surgery? May God be with you.

self funded as well said:

I had this same self funded company. Omnipure looks bad here and the situation stinks. They are self funded and what they pay in creates a total that they can use from as a group. If they use more than they put in, then they have to pay more. The insurance company will cover that but expect the rates to go up to cover it. If they paid for an uncovered experimental surgery for a former employee, then the current employees will have to probably pay double the rates to make up for their fund being broke. Something similiar happend to us. It's a bummer because everyone gets angry with the person that used up the fund because they pay for it. I hope they can get him some help.

We will be doing a yard sale on August 1st for the Stockdales. I was wondering if you could air that on the news? I will forward more information later, such as where, what time, etc. Hopefully I'll know all the information by tomorrow, and let you know. The more stuff donated for the yard sale, the better.

My heart goes out to the Stockdales. I am in the same boat but not as bad as the stockdales. I hurt my back at work on 8/27/08. I have 3 vertibral fractures,2 ruptured discs and a vertabrae that has moved foward and twisted and compresses my spinal cord. workman's comp only paid for a few medical bills because they found a record from years ago on an old back injury.
I need surgery which is $63,000.00. I have no insurance and cannot get disability because I have to work to pay bills. I gut each day out on pain meds so I can perform the best I can at work.
I come home each night in excruciating pain.If I don"t get surgery the chances of being paralyzed grow each day.
where do I go from here? I feel for the stockdales.

While I feel sympathy for this family they are getting very good at asking for handouts. There are a lot of people in need right now and I think that they need to make some tough decisions and quit asking the general public for donations. I also think that KTVB needs to quit giving this so much air time and start reporting on the news and back up those "awards" they keep telling us they received!

J. said:

Good Idea regarding taking out a mortgage on a home given to them, as they would have no mortgage payments presently and could gradually pay back the mortgage. Sound suggestion.

Amanda said:

I think its ironic that people are willing to post negative comments about this family and what they are dealing with, but yet those same people seem to be too chicken to post who they are.....they all seem to be "anonymous"

Claudia said:

Don't you anonymous criticizers have anything better to do? The Stockdales do have a mortgage, thousands of dollars in monthly medical expenses for Ryan and their four kids and no income. I certainly hope you are never in a position to have to ask for help from others.

anonymous #3 said:

I agree with Omnipure denying the coverage for Ryan Stockdale's surgery as if he has not been employed by them for a year then how can they cover him. I agree with Doug Greer about them seeking help from the LDS Church where they are suppose to be members of. I feel the community has already given enough to them. I have a disabled husband and I work full time and I do not get any help with my house payments, car payments, etc. If something happened to my husband would they pay for his surgery? I don't think so. Anonymous from today had a very good point on why not try to figure this out for themselves instead of always being in the news media and being the center of attention. Karia could get someone that she knows to come in and care for the children and Ryan and get a job herself, because it doesn't appear that she is handicapped or anything. I know this is very stressfull for her, but there is other alternatives than asking for a handout in these very hard economic times.

Vern Ricketts said:

It would be a big help if you mentioned the Stockdale Fund Benefit Account on your newscast and perhaps printed it at the bottom of the screen. I finally wound up calling Syringa Bank for this information so I could mail a check.
I'm not a computer literate person, so it took me about 20 minutes to find this spot, and I have no idea if you will get it anyway...any little bit of feedback would make me feel better.

Ryan layton said:

To Mark that called this family media whores. Ryan Stockdale has been my best friend since middle school. Ryan's headaches did start five years ago but were rare and only became frequent late last year. They are daily anywhere from 6 to 16hrs a day of the worst pain a human being can experience. Have you ever had a kidney stone Mark? If you have it's a cakewalk compared to the pain Ryan suffers. There are things worse than death. Extreme Makeover was not about Ryan's occasional cluter headache at that point. They weren't hiding it from you Mark in some sort of crazy media conspiracy. Ryan and Karia are some of the kindest most down to Earth people you could ever hope to meet, and their family has suffered more than any family I have ever come across. You did talk on the phone with Karia and listen to her cry over the suffering her husband has experienced. Karia went to the media as a last resort. If you didn't notice through your amazing ignorance, Karia did not go to the media until she has exausted every appeal with insurance company. It was the last thing she wanted to do because they had just gotten to the point where could go to the store and not have people crowded around watching them. People like you are the reason Karia did not want to go to the media. She is trying save her husbands life. What would you do Mark if your wife was suffering with this condition? If you had the option to appeal to the public for help you wouldn't do it??? Yes you would!!! You would not let your wife suffer like this and you would go whore youself out to the media to save her life in an instant. Lastly, what do you think is in many headache medications? Caffiene!! You are obviously thinking of migraines. You know absolutely nothing about "suicide headaches", so please, before you speak know what you are talking about. Your ignorance is at a high level.

Cheryl said:

My heart goes out to this family, They have exhausted all avenues and now need our help. I have made a donation and ask you all to give whatever you can for this life-saving surgery for Ryan. We should all hope that if we were in an hour of need, the community would come together for us. Let us step forward when it counts!
Our prayers go out to the Stockdale's.

Like I previously mentioned......WHY ISN'T THE LDS/MORMON CHURCH FUNDING THIS SURGERY?????

THE MORMON CHURCH IS A $30 + BILLION DOLLAR EMPIRE. CERTAINLY THEY COULD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND PAY FOR RYAN'S SURGERY.

LET'S SEE A NEWS STORY ON A CHURCH THAT IS TURNING IT'S BACK ON IT'S OWN FELLOWSHIP!!!

Mark said:

Sorry Maggie, but I have to respond to this.
Yep, that they are. My wife does suffer from Migraine headaches and she goes to the doctor and gets meds for it that we PAY OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET FOR! And no, I would not whore myself out like this family has. I would have quietly gone and gotten a home equity loan on our house and got 'er done!! Don't need to go to the media unless your looking for a hand out. PERIOD! We did google "cluster headaches" (as anyone reading this should) and it does say that caffene is a contributing factor! And, no she went to the media to get the insurance company to do the surgery. Yes, we have been following this and they are what they are. Most over the counter meds do have caffene, but prescripion ones don't. We know, my wife takes them. Hate to say it, but YOUR ignorance is at an even HIGHER level!

I am wondering has anyone ever thought about the rest of the people out there that no only suffer from headache, but cancer, renal disease, and many other illness. That can not even afford medications let alone surgery, They have already lot their houses, alot have even lot their familes, The Stockdales got a new house, new car, the kids have every little tikes toy known to man. I understand Karia might not have wanted to go to the media. But let's be real..... The Stockdales have gotten alot. They did not want to have to move, aleast they have a house to sell. Ryan got a free ride to BSU. That means NO student loans, The kids have FREE rides to CofI. I am not saying this is sad, but let's spread our help. At least they have a house they could sell.
If this is our Standard I am going to start telling my pateints at the hospital that if they are in finacial trouble to call the media.

I have to recomment on all this publicity for the Stockdales. I would like for someone to collect $50,000 plus for me to have much needed foot surgery so I can keep on working in the near future. Lets just keep handing everything out to this family as we haven't gave enough yet obviously. I do not agree with paying for his surgery. I agree with the nurse comment on lets all go to the news media when we cannot pay our own medical bills. Like I said before, I do work full time and I am lucky to have my job, but I have worked very hard to get where I am and I pride myself in trying to take care of all my medical problems and everything else without handouts. Ryan did have a free ride to BSU,The children have all the medical help as well and I do feel sorry for the family, but start standing up on their own two feet and take care of it themselves.

Katie said:

It saddens me to see the negative comments about the Stockdales. Just so you know she didn't want to bring this public, but it was her last choice. Also, they DO have a mortgage payment. Alot of people don't think they do, but they DO. So, please quit criticizing them. He deserves the chance to live! If you really/fully understood the WHOLE situation, I think/know you would have a better attitude.

Katie said:

To add to my last comment. If they sold their house like people think they should, that would put ALL FOUR of their children at risk with their health, because it was built specifically for the children. Also please don't criticize the LDS Church. Please people, have a heart and quit criticizing. For those who WANT to donate-please don't stop! We appreciate all your love, kindess and unselfishness.

My husband has been dealing with severe daily headaches for 10 years. He is only 31. On top of that he has spina bifida, scoliosis, and severe arthritis in his neck. When we were able to go to the dr they have told him that if he doesn't have surgery soon he will be paralized. Our family of 4 lives off disability which doesn't even pay our rent and car payment. I haven't been able to get a job. Even if I did I have nobody to take care of my husband and kids. We are so far in debt from his medical bills that we can't get anything. We are about to live on the streets now. We can't even afford to go to the doctor. I haven't gone to the dentist since i was 10 years old. We are having so many problems and nobody wants to help us. Why? because we haven't been on t.v. I'm sorry for what the family is going through but they aren't the only ones with problems. They are just the ones with the media access. At least they have options. We don't have 1. I don't know how to help my husband it is so hard on my family. My kids have never been able to play with him because he hurts so bad all the time. They are 7 and 3. If anyone wants to help us let me know. We'll accept handouts apparently that's the only way.

nathan said:

We don't get medical card from the state because the little bit we get from disability they say is to much to qualify they say we can only make $400.00 a month to get a medical card. My husband has lost several jobs due to his condition and we have had several vehicles re pooed and have several thousand dollars in medical bills in the credit bureaus. He has had these headaches since 1996 and we can't afford to even go to the doctor or get prescriptions filled. When he has to go to the ER they treat him and have came out and accused him of being a a drug addict, that is how crappy our medical system is. He is so depressed from the pain and money problems that everyday he says he wants to die and has became suicidal. If anyone has any ideas of help or anyone want to donate please let us know.

It is very sad how there are any negative comments about the Stockdale family. I do not know them personally however I am certain that they are trying their best. There are people, obviously, who feel that selling their home is the answer and that standing on your "own two feet" is how everything should be done. Selling their home is not the answer. She had the courage to ask for help which is a humbling thing to do. For those of you who have health problems and are in debt up to your ears and say you are doing it all on your own...I have no doubt that if you were the ones recieving the help you would happily recieve it! I don't believe it is because they were in the media already that led them to receive help. It was because she let go of pride and asked. It's pride and envy that cause such negative reactions.

As for the LDS church helping them....they are! Through the members. I have no doubt that Mormons and people of other faiths are all contributing to this cause, which is good. I don't believe any church gives out money to cure problems...We as a people step in to help one another. If no one has come to help you, I'm very sorry but please don't take your frustrations out on the Stockdale family because they are being helped by others. Perhaps joining in and helping out would soften your hearts. You don't have to agree with it but you don't have to be so unkind either!

As for those of you who are suffering....I hope you will recieve the help you need. I know there are many suffering, who are not pointing fingers with accusing eyes, who just want help as well. One comment was made about keeping the fund going for other people. That sounds like a wonderful idea. We, as a people and community, should never doubt what we are able to do together. Let's keep the fund going to help others out there.

I have had these headaches for 13 years on top of needing surgery for that I need neck and back surgery to remove damaged nerves and arthritis and to put in steel bars. When I was 12-15 I was being treated by Shiners Hospital but we moved before I was able to get my surgery threw them for free because my dad had pancreatic cancer. Now I have no options for medical care I have no money or insurance. I was going to a pain center in Boise bu was unable to afford my payments and they sent a letter stating that me and my immediate family where not allowed to go there for treatment. I have been to several different doctors from pain specialists-neurologists -family doctors and owe them all money that I can't pay. I was told a few years ago that if I didn't have the surgery soon that I would end up in a wheel chair. I have to wear a neck brace most of the time and have to use a cane from time to time. I haven't been able to play with my 2 small children which upsets them and me and my wife they know that I'm in a lot of pain but they don't really understand what the hole deal is. I am to the point that I would rather be dead than to be in pain anymore. I hate not being able to play with my kids and always having to tell them that they have o be quiet, I think that my wife and kids would be better of without me so my wife can meet someone that can take care of her and the kids and play with them and give them some kind of life.

I have asked for help everywhere I can think of and have got none. If anyone knows of something I might not have tried let me know. njs4life@yahoo.com

To kelli: I have asked for help for my husband from everywhere. I have gone to the media as a last resort and got nothing so yeah i do feel that them being in the media before definitely helped. And no I'm not negative against the family everyone has problems and want to get help i just want to know what makes that family so much better that they can get help and we can't. My husband has been dealing with his pain for over 10 years and has never been able to play with his kids at least the stockdale family has some sort of options and has had opportunities. We are really good people and help people whenever we can even though we get screwed over every time. I think that it is awesome that the community is willing to help but I just wonder when it will be our turn for some good luck.

I think its great that everybody can give a little to help a family that's in a bad spot. All these whack jobs leaving negative comments get a life, being LDS (which I'm not) has nothing to do with this guys headaches. Your just jealous

Well, let’s start with the frighteningly embarrassing video that the Stockdale’s have aired on the local television networks recently; I am stunned at the depravity and, at the same time, amused to tears by the poor acting! No one with migraine (or cluster) headaches rolls around on the floor, writhing in “pain”, moaning out loud like an infant with a soggy diaper, with the big screen TV on in the background, children running helter skelter, and the brand new faux-bronze light fixtures burning at maximum wattage! Authentic headache patients curl into a ball, with covers over their heads, and they DO NOT move! Movement equals pain…light equals pain…sound equals pain. At least if you are going to give this thing a good go, you might want to brush up on the symptomology and the actual pathology before performing some movie-inspired half-assed bullshit!
These people are up to something, and within the next three years we will all realize what fools they were, how much these antics have affected their children, and how some of you were moved to open your already thin wallets for people who are living on our handouts. Is the ‘bailout’ syndrome crossing over into individual personal finances now? Because I could certainly use some help with my Visa bill!

It is really sad that negative comments are even being made. If you want to help the Stockdales, then help them. If you feel so negative about it then don't bother and be on your way. Why even comment! Some of the comments are really hurtful and malicious. I admire Karia for having the courage to ask the media to cover this story. If she hadn't asked they would be selling the home that was built to give their children a healthier and better quality of life.

Kelli - I think you worded everything so good! It is sad that there are those hurting out there that are not being helped! We have to remember that there are people hurting ALL over the world! Think about people in 3rd world countries - they would look at any one of us with all our big problems and wish for our over theirs. There is always someone in need. And though I wish everyone could be helped we would have to live in a perfect world for that. Those of you on here that need help - keep asking! Keep getting out there! The Stockdale family has had some really rough times! Thank God they are being helped! I can't imagine the ordeal that Nathan and his family are going through! Continue persevering - it will pay off!
But come on - Help with a Visa bill? How in the world does that even compare to life and death situations? Maybe Ryan's problem is not life and death and does not HAVE to be taken care of but it is. And that is good for them. Their first time being helped could have meant death for his children! What would you do or wish could be done for you and your family if it meant the loss of life??

Sheeple, come on - you can't be serious in backing this con artist family? NOW it has been said that he might NOT be eligible for the "experimental" operation! When it will ever stop for these two? This is getting to be a very EXPENSIVE reality check for the people of this area. DUH! Guess what? - They just got a free trip to S.F.!!!! Wow, I sure wish I could do that! Wondering what they will do next. AMAIZING!
