Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a special empowerment workshop for girls. It's called P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
Here's a picture of me with the founders of the class, and a few students:
PERFECT is a course designed for middle school girls that includes coaching and techniques to sort out the confusion and pressure to try to be PERFECT.
(The best part is, they learn they don't have to be!)
The founders - Lorene Oates and Rebecca Evans - encourage girls to dream BIG and know that they are PERFECT just the way they are. The goal is to help girls feel happy with the body, mind and spirit they have - and to stop comparing themselves to (and competing with) other girls.

Maggie - the most amazing thing about being a part of the P.E.R.F.E.C.T. workshop is that I get to really learn from these girls. They are all so very amazing; generous of their time, their dreams and goals. Every single young girl impresses upon me in one way or another how very precious our lives are and how important it is to love oneself. And yes, through encouraging others to dream big, Lorene and I are continuing to dream big as well!
P.E.R.F.E.C.T. is coming up this fall, the four-week portion of the class begins Oct 14th...and we never turn a girl away...enrollment is open...
