Making an IMPACT!

Stockdales.png

So many people have stepped forward to help the Stockdale family of Middleton... if you are reading this you might be be one of them. After my BLOG post on their situation this week - and all the comments on it, I can tell you that people have VERY strong opinions about this family and their dilemma.

Some of you support donating to help pay for Ryan Stockdale's experimental brain surgery, and some think all this attention on one family is unfair - and that the community should spread the wealth to help other families who are in desperate need too.

No matter what your opinion is (and all opinions are respected on this BLOG) what I'm about to share with you is an incredible feat for any community!

Yesterday at 2pm, Impact Radio Group set up camp at the Syringa Bank at Fairview and Eagle to collect donations from people who want to give to Ryan Stockdale's surgery fund.

The radio stations are calling it "The Power of a Dollar" - and I heard through the grapevine that they made a lot of cash yesterday... so I called one of the radio stations over at the bank this morning and found out that since yesterday's 2pm start time - they have raised over $35,000 for the family.

$35,000 dollars!

"Our hearts are filled with the support and community involvement that has been shown today and we don't want to stop until we reach our goal of $80,000 for the Stockdales." - Impact Radio Group

If you want to stop by and see this amazing show of community support for the Stockdale family in action, you can. Impact is out there at Syringa Bank right now. They plan to stay there broadcasting LIVE until the $80,000 needed for Ryan Stockdale's Deep Brain Stimulation surgery is raised.

If the people who live in Idaho can do this for just one family, imagine what we could do as a community for others in need too!

UPDATE @ 6:21pm: This afternoon, IMPACT reached that goal and raised the 80,000 dollars needed for Ryan Stockdale's surgery...

I can not believe all the support the Stockdeals are getting. What about all the rest of the people in Idaho who are going though the same thing and yet they have no support for the community. The only reason people care so much is because they were on extreme makeover if they were never on that show the community would not care so much. I’m tiered of them being in the news. They are not telling the whole truth and for that I have no sympathy for them. I think the news and the Stockdeals are making ompure out to be this bad business when its not. They need to stop making people fell sorry for them and take reasonability for them selves. Why should they have everything handed to them when they have never given anything back? I know the whole truth about them and I think they should fill ashamed for doing what there doing. If the community can give so much to them than why not all the others in Idaho who have to give away the pets, there house just to pay the bills. This has gone on way to long and think the news should drop it there are more important things than them that should be reported on.

I wonder how many people in the valley know how many people are hurting in worse ways than the Stockdales. There are many people out there that are losing their homes and families due to illness. The cost of kidney Dis.and Cancer and many other illness have robbed many people of so much..And they have not gotten a free house, car, and their education paid for. At least the Stockdale have a house that they could sell to assit in paying for this. A lot of people are forced out of their home on to the street. And the Valley does not hold events for these people.
I think the stockdales need to realize how blessed they are/were and quit going to media.

Yeah lets just keep giving money to the Stockdales so there will be none for the people to pay their own medical bills. I need about $45 to $50,000 to have my feet operated on so I can keep on working like I do even if I am in constant pain when I stand or walk. They should be thankful for everything that all of us tax payers and workers have given them already. I know that I am lucky to have a job and am still able to work at this time, but enough of the handouts to the Stockdale Family, I know that their children are very sick and need the special meals, but they have all of that took care of for life, and Ryan did have a free ride to BSU and where did all of that money come from? Think about this and any time anybody needs surgery lets go ask the news media to raise the money for this, As soon as all the money is raised for this surgery please take this of the news and tell the regular news that will make everybody happy.

Well, let's get proof then. Until you provide some REAL proof that this is true, I will not believe a single word of that.

And for anyone else who is mad that the Stockdales are getting special treatment from citizens, just remember, people (like myself) donated to the cause because it was for a good family in a hard spot. I WAS NOT forced into donating. I did on my own free will. If someone needs financial help, they shouldn't be afraid to ask for help from anyone. If they know you're in a tight spot, and you ask for help, odds are they WILL give it to you.

I'd rather hear good news like this rather than negative news like Mr President's "brilliant" government controlled healthcare plan, or even how there was another car accident in the Treasure Valley. I don't know about you, but that sure doesn't make me happy.

I am very disappointed in the way the people of our community talk. You all sound so incredibly selfish because your not getting the help that the Stockdales are getting. They didnt asked for this. They are being blessed because maybe..just maybe they are doing something right. You people who are bashing them and feeling sorry for yourselves should look at your lives and figure out why nothing right is happening to you. Everyone has problems in life and yeah some of us dont get help but you should be grateful for what you have and try your best to do good for others because what goes around comes around. Sometimes life is hard and I am so proud of those in our community that stepped up and helped out a family that is truly in need. Those of you who sit there and feel sorry for yourselves should learn from the wonderful people who have donated there time and money to help those in need. They have done a wonderful thing and should be proud!

SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT'S THE MATTER? ARE YOU JEALOUS???????????

Unless you've walked in their shoes, you have no idea how difficult it is for them. 4 little kids that need constant medical attention and now Ryan can hardly function due the massive head aches.

Maybe you should count your blessings instead of belittleing.

May God Bless those who put this fundrasier together and all those who donated.

Not everybody is jealous of what the Stockdales are doing and getting or feeling sorry for themselves. It just is ironic that 2 years after the home is built for them and I do know that they have house payments like the rest of us, that they are needing help again. I pray for this family to get help along with the others. I do not feel sorry for myself, I was just trying to make a point across to everyone that has a struggle out there. My husband wakes up every morning with a headache and cannot hardly get out of bed because of his disability, but he makes the best effort he can and trys to get thru the day the best he can. I am thankful that he is still with me and I pray every night that his pain is taken away from him also. There is no surgery that will help him. I just wanted to voice an opinion and I did. People do not think I am selfish, because I am not a selfish type of person, I would give anything to anyone if I had it in my control to do so.
