Armed robbery suspect arrested

Nampa police confirm they have arrested one man in connection with an armed robbery that happened in Nampa Sunday night.
The search for the second suspect continues.
The robbery happened at the Jackson's on Garrity and Stamm.
One of the men flashed a gun and demanded money from the clerk, while the other acted as a look-out.

Missing boy

Boise police are asking for you help finding a missing 12-year-old boy.
William Tran was last seen at 10:30 am yesterday at his home on West Tidewater.
He left on his bike and told his mother he was going to mow someone's lawn.
He was last seen wearing a grey shirt and black swimming trunks.
He's 5'1" and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call Ada County dispatch at 377-6790.

Lightning causes fire

Caldwell fire fighters are still on the scene of a business fire that was started by lightning. The business is Extreme RV's in Caldwell, it's located off highway 19. Caldwell fire fighters say lightning struck the roof of the building and triggered the alarm.

The fire is out now and there was minimal damage.



Home invasion in Nampa

Home invasion in Nampa

Five people have been arrested after Nampa Police say they forced their way into a home and robbed it.

The home is located on Holly street north Northwest Nazarene University.

Police say around 11:30 last night, five men went into a home with a baseball bat.
One person confronted the men and was struck in the face and knocked to the ground. He sustained minor injuries.

Investigators say the five stole property from the home and then took off in a car. Witnesses were able to get the car's license plate and police arrested them a short time later.

Police arrested Jordan Isgar, 21; Andrew Belsher, 19; Jacob Bingle, 19; and Billy Hall, 18. The 5th person is a juvenile and his name has not be released.

The men were taken to the Canyon County Jail and are being held without bond.
They are scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon.



Highway 95 deadly crash

Highway 95 deadly crash

A man died when the pick-up he was a passenger in crashed into a power pole. The crash happened Monday night on Highway 95 near Cambridge.

Idaho State Police say Greg Capener, 36, of Cambridge died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. The driver, Lacey Goslin, 21, was taken to the hospital in Weiser. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.




Chemical spill

Chemical spill

A toxic spill closed the interstate in eastern Oregon for nearly four hours last night. A Washington man was seriously injured. It happened on I-84 between La Grande and Baker City. A semi-truck carrying a dangerous liquid rolled over.


A fire fighter from La Grande who is part of the haz-mat team that responded to the scene. He says they have reports that at least one person on scene was feeling ill from the chemical spill, but he believes that person was treated on scene.

The truck driver that was injured is at St. Alphonsus hospital right now. He is in critical condition.

Police say a woman was driving in the slow lane with her flashers on when, a semi truck carrying dangerous liquid came up behind her and swerved to miss her car. The semi truck rolled over once, and the trailer fell on its side. Liquid chromic acid was inside the trailer -- it's estimated 300 to 400 gallons of the liquid spilled on to the shoulder of the road. When the acid is mixed with air it becomes a breathing hazard.

Haz-mat crews were sent to the scene and the interstate was closed between La Grande to Baker City for four hours.

Shots fire in Nampa

Nampa police are investigating shots fired. It happened at 1904 7th Street. One adult male occupant was hit and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The incident is currently still under investigation. There is no indication at this time that it is gang related. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-cops.



Car into river

Car into river

One person is in the hospital, another person is missing after their car swerved off highway 55 in Banks right into the Payette river.

It happened just after 8:30 pm last night on highway 55 between Horseshoe Bend and Banks.

"A vehicle was trying to pass another going northbound on highway 55, another vehicle was coming southbound the vehicle swerved to the right, over corrected to the left and went off the embankment on the shoulder of highway 55 into the river," said Jeremiah Sharp, Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police say two people were in the small car when it went in the river. One man managed to swim to the side and get out.

Rescue crews pulled him up the steep embankment onto a gurney and into an ambulance. He's now at a Boise hospital.

Search teams are still looking for the car and the other person. Idaho State Police say they are not sure if the person is with the car, or if the other person got out. The search will continue at daylight.

Rollover crash in Caldwell

A single car rollover on the interstate in Caldwell has sent all five occupants to the hospital. Police think alcohol may have been involved. The crash happened around 1:50 am near the Franklin Road exit.

"It appears the driver applied the brakes and lost control of the vehicle, where it rolled. At this time we're not sure how many time it rolled. The investigation is still pending on that," Josh Hurley, Idaho State Police.

Police say the five were taken to three different hospitals -- two to West Valley, one to Mercy and other two to St. Alphonsus. The driver of the SUV Pedro Zapata-Reyes, 26, of Nampa is in critical condition at St. Alphonsus. Anotheer passenger was treated and released at St. Alphonsus. Two others are in stable condition at West Valley Medical Center.

Troopers say no one was wearing a seat belt. The ages of the people in the car range from 19 to 29 years old.



Fire off Fairview

Fire off Fairview

Fire engulfed a large, abandoned building in Boise near Fairview and 27th streets just after 1:30 am. Fire crews are still on the scene.

Firefighters decided not to go in the building due to safety reasons. They've spent the last few hours fighting the flames from the outside and will enter the building as soon as it is safe.

"The building was abandoned clearly something caused the fire on the roof," said Bruce Rankin, BFD Division Chief.

One the fire started they check all the doors, which were locked. Fire fighters don't suspect anyone was inside.

Fire fighters still don't know who owns the building. Later this morning they will be going to the accessor's office to find out.

Car chase in Nampa

Police are still looking for a man who walked away from a work release program and led them on a high speed chase through Nampa. The chase, which happened just after midnight, reached speeds of up to 100 mph.


Officers saw the suspect, Anival Zuniga, 31, driving and began to follow him.
Police say he took off and officers chased him through Nampa. Police are still looking for him.

Officers have a few people in custody in connection to Zuniga but are still looking for him. If you have any information please call Nampa police at 465-2257.

Cyclist dead after collision with SUV

A 37-year-old Meridian man has died after being struck by a sport utility vehicle while bicycling in North Boise.

Boise Police were called to the intersection of Hill Road and Smith Avenue at 7:44 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses told officers that several cyclists were riding together eastbound on Hill Road when a 16-year-old driving a small SUV made a left turn directly in the path of one of the cyclists. The SUV struck the cyclist, who was wearing a helmet. He was immediately taken to the hospital. The driver has not been charged.



Missing plane

Missing plane

The FAA has confirmed that they are looking for a missing plane that left from the Boise Airport Wednesday afternoon. The FAA has confirmed there is at least one person on board.

The plane is registered to an owner in Boise. The family of the pilot called saying that the person was overdue. The pilot left Wednesday at 1:59 pm mountain standard time out of Boise Airport and has not been seen since.

Search and rescue is out looking for a Cessna 182 model. The FAA believes they know where the plane is located, but cannot release that information.



One alarm fire

One alarm fire

Late last night firefighters put out a duplex fire.

It happened on the corner of Creeway and Shawnee just after 10:40pm Thursday night.

It was a single alarm fire with lots of smoke.
Crews were out there until a little after one this morning. No one was hurt.




Man runs from police

Man runs from police

One man has been cited after running from police.
Police say the man stole wood from a Meridian lumber yard near Chinden and Locust Grove.
Officers say a neighbor spotted the man's car and called police.
Police finally pulled the man over near centennial golf course.
Police say the man then ran, but was later found by Canyon County deputies.
Officers say the man will also be cited for taking the wood.

Car chase in Nampa

Ada County dispatch says they have at least one person in custody after an early morning car chase. Dispatchers say around 4:45 am officers tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle near Chinden and Locust Grove, but the car did not stop and a chase began.

Officers finally stopped the car in a Nampa neighborhood near Centennial Golf Course.

Motorcyclist injured in collision with truck on I-84

Boise - One man was taken to the hospital after colliding with a semi-truck Tuesday evening in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near Maple Grove.

Police say the motorcyclist hit a slick spot on the highway and slid into one of the truck's tires. He was not wearing a helmet. His condition has not been released.

Traffic was backed up for about 4 miles on Interstate 84 and also backed up onto the I-184 Connector at the Flying Wye interchange during the busy evening westbound commute from Boise.



Car hits bicyclist

Car hits bicyclist

A bicyclist was hit by a car this morning at the intersection of Riverside Dr. and South Eagle Rd. in Eagle. A 71 year old man was riding his bike against traffic when he was hit by a driver making a right turn heading south onto Eagle Rd.

According to the officer on scene, the man's injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The man was taken to St. Alphonsus Hospital. He is said to have an injury to his face and arms. The driver will not face any charges.
