Hazardous Road conditions in Northern Idaho
ISP is requesting emergency and essential travel only on the Roadways in North Idaho.
In some areas there are blizzard like conditions, low visibility and high drifts. Again please stay off the roadways unless it is essential to travel.
Also they are advising all semi's chain up when travelling on all roads in North Idaho.

Deadly accident on Highway 95
We have some breaking news out of Canyon county for you.
Police are on scene of a deadly accident on Highway 95 and Fern near Wilder.
Highway 95 in that area is closed at this time.
We have a crew headed that way and will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
Also Idaho State Police are requesting that you stay off of the roadways in Northern Idaho unless it is an emergency.

John Edwards to bow out of presidential race?
The Associated Press is reporting Democrat John Edwards is leaving the presidential race.
Two advisers say Edwards has notified a close circle of senior advisers that he plans to make the announcement today in New Orleans.

Semi crash closes exit 29 on I-84
Idaho State Police responded to a semi crash on the eastbound off ramp at the Franklin Road exit in Caldwell.
It happened just before 11:30pm.
Dumitru Boicu, 27 of Waco, Texas was driving a semi on Interstate 84.
Traffic was being diverted onto exit 29 due to construction.
He was not able to understand the signs and did not slow down enough to negotiate the exit ramp.
The semi crashed through the guardrail, destroying the tractor and causing the trailer to overturn.

Structure fire in Caldwell
Crews are on scene of a possible structure fire in Caldwell.
It happened after 10:30 pm on the 6 thousand block of Cleveland Blvd.

Structure fire in Boise
Boise firefighters put out a fire at the Suds Tavern on Broadway just after six this morning.
Investigators are trying to figure out how it started.
They did block part of Broadway while they dealt with the fire.
There are no reports of any injuries.
We don't know how bad the damage is.

House fire in Eagle
Another overnight fire, and because of a dog everyone is safe.
It happened just after midnight on the 1700 block of Trout Road in Eagle.
Fire crews say the homeowner awoke to the sound of his dog barking.
When he got up, he found fire coming out of the wall and ceiling near his wood stove.
He tried to contain it himself, but quickly called for help.
Firefighters arrived, and started pulling down the interior of the house to try to contain the fire.
Several agencies responded to the fire, and they were able to put it out before too much damage occured.
They say the damage is mainly to the ceiling.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Apartment fire in Meridian
An apartment fire in Ada County left two people without a place to live.
It happened just after 11:00pm on the 1300 block of 8th street in Meridian.
When fire crews arrived they found smoke billowing out of the apartments.
Crews say the fire started on the bedroom mattress and then burned through to the apartment underneath.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Three arrested in connection to car burglary
Three people are in custody after police say they stole a car and attempted to break into another.
Police have arrested 20-year-old Dustin J. Salkield of Boise, 18-year-old Elizabeth Wiley of Caldwell, and 18-year-old Jeremiah W. Jones of Garden City.
When police arrived at 37 Hundred block of Rugby in Boise around 3a.m. they found a car broken into as well as an abandoned stolen car.
They set up a perimeter and with the help of a police dog brought three people into custody.
Police say the suspects were involved in other crimes earlier this month.

Missing child in Gem County
We know more information about a missing child in Gem county. Police say they are looking for a seven year old boy named Riley.
He was last seen with his friends around 7:30pm at the Chaparral Apartments in Emmett. They say Riley is around four feet tall and weighs about 45 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, a spiderman shirt, and dark blue pants with green and white stripes.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Gem county Sheriff's Office at 365-3521.

Armed Robbery in Boise
Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery in Boise.
It happened last night just before 8 o'clock at the "Video Mexico" on Fairview Avenue.
Police say a hispanic man demanded money and threatened the clerk with a large knife.
He took an unknown amount of money and ran from the store. Police are looking for a heavy set hispanic male in his 30's.
They say he was wearing a brown hooded jacket, brown pants, and a cloth partially covering his face.

Crash sends three to Boise hospital
A Boise man is behind bars - after police say he got in a drunken accident that sent two innocent people to the hospital.
A police spokesperson says Johnny Steven Rudolfo of Boise was driving his 2007 Chrysler eastbound on Federal Way just after 9 p.m. Thursday night - when he ran the red light at Bergeson near Zamzow's.
Police say Rudolfo's car smashed into another car going westbound on Federal Way. Paramedics took two people to a Boise hospital with injuries that appeared to be serious, but not life-threatening.

Hit and run crash in Nampa
Nampa police are investigating a hit and run accident that happened earlier this morning.
It happened just before five on Midland Boulevard and Brentwood.
They say a driver hit a power pole and then left on foot.
Officers are still searching for him and say he could face charges of leaving the scene of an accident.
No traffic is blocked at this time, and the power pole is being replaced.

Standoff in Boise
A Meridian man is in custody after a short standoff with police.
The whole situation started around 2:00am on SW 7th St and Franklin.
Police were told that 20-year Paul Castaneda was suicidal and armed with a knife.
They found him barricaded in a nearby apartment.
Police tell us there were 3 people inside asleep at the time, and as such treated it as a hostage situation.
They quickly set up a perimeter and made contact with Castaneda by phone.
They negotiated for 40 minutes until he gave himself up.
Officers say no one was hurt during the negotiations.

Police investigate abduction and attempted rape
Police are investigating an abduction and attempted rape.
It happened before midnight in an alley by The Torch 2 in Boise.
Police say a man flagged down a female cab driver. While they were driving he put a knife to her and demanded money.
The cab driver gave it to him, and shortly after he took control of the car.
They stopped near Kuna on Swan Falls Rd and Nicholson, where he then attempted to rape her.
After putting her in the trunk he made a phone call for someone to come pick him up.
The cab driver had a cell phone with her and was able to call for help while she was in the trunk.
Police are looking for a Hispanic or White man around 5 feet seven inches with a thin build.
They say he was wearing a dark colored ball cap and hoodie, and has a tear drop shaped tattoo on his face.

Man on the run after pointing gun at police
A traffic stop turned into a chase on foot and police are still searching for their suspect.
Police are searching for 18 year old Michael Nash of Boise.
He is a white male, 5' 8" tall, 200 lbs with a tattoo on his neck.
Nash was wearing a black hoody and blue jeans.
Police attempted to pull Nash over last night around 10:30 PM.
The traffic stop happened at State Street and 35th.
Nash, driving an older, white Chevy Blazer pulled over to the Stinker Station.
He then jumped out of the vehicle, grabbed a handgun which he pointed at officers and then ran.
Police are considering Michael Nash armed and dangerous. He does have gang affiliations in the area.
Police did contact neighbors in the area last night to warn them to be cautious. They were also asked to be on the lookout for anything unusual and to stay in their homes.

SUV crashes into house causing extensive damage
Just before 2 AM, a Boise police officer noticed a white SUV driving eastbound, in the westbound lane at a high rate of speed. The officer was nearly hit by the SUV.
An attempt to pull the SUV over, turned into a corner after corner chase through a residential neighborhood just off of State Street.
The white Ford Explorer took a very tight corner, ran off the road and struck a house on North 29th Street.
The crash took off the front porch and caused extensive damage to the entire front of the house.
A couple was inside at the time of the incident but was not injured.
The two occupants inside the SUV were also unharmed.
Officers say alcohol was a factor but do not yet know as to what extent.
The driver of the SUV is being investigated for driving under the influence.
Charges are pending.

Caldwell house fire
Firefighters responded to a house fire in Caldwell early this morning.
It happened just after midnight on the 800 block of 5th street.
Firefighters tell us no one was living in the house at the tiem.
They say the fire burned through the roof, and the house is a complete loss.

Apartment fire in Boise
A family in North Boise arrived home last night to find they had no place to live.
This after a fire destroyed their apartment.
It happened just after 9:30pm on the two thousand block of Anderson st.
When crews arrived they say they found flames coming out of the windows and doors.
The apartment is in the middle of two other units, so fire crews worked quickly to keep the fire from spreading.
No one got hurt in the fire, but crews say they evacuated half a dozen residents.
They don't know how the fire started, but are working to figure that out.

Caldwell fire
Crews are investigating a fire that damaged a school in Canyon County last night.
It happened just after 9:00pm at the Idaho Caine Veterinary Teaching Center in Caldwell.
A passerby called in the fire, and when crews arrived they found a pickup truck behind the building. The fire quickly spread catching some hay on fire and damaging part of the building's exterior.
They don't know what caused the fire, but believe it started from somewhere inside the truck.

Police are responding to a report of shots fired in Boise near Ustick and Five Mile Rd.
